This website does not collect any information about users who are not registered.
In order to register, you must first complete the application form, during which you are required to give certain information (such as name and email address). This information is stored and used to contact you about the eMentoring program. You may also optionally provide demographic information during registration, but it is not required.
Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to / collect information that you voluntarily give us via forms, email, or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone, and we will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization.
Unless you ask us not to via email or other direct contact, we may use your information to contact you in the future to ask about ongoing interest in the eMentor program.
Messages are not private and are subject to STA’s AUP policy
. The eMentor coordinator can view the content of messages at any time, and messages may be audited if it is suspected that the AUP policy has been breached.
You and your conversation partner may both agree to share your conversation with other registered users of this site. Only registered users can see these shared conversations. If both parties agree to share, only job titles and “student” will be used to label the conversation. Messages will be unaltered, so any information in messages would be available for other registered users to see.
Your Access to and Control Over Information
You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the Help / Contact Us form available on our website or by emailing email@example.com
- See what data we have about you, if any.
- Change / correct any data we have about you.
- Have us delete any data we have about you.
- Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
- Opt out of any future contact.
Your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.
Access to personally identifiable information is given only to employees who need the information to perform a specific job (such as the eMentor coordinator). The computers / servers in which we store sensitive information are kept in a secure environment.
